It’s the first day of Spring! But our particular location in the troposphere has stuck its fingers in its ears and refuses to oblige.

Seasonal transitions are always an interesting time in our long, complicated relationship with our closets. Is it time to put away the white or time to put it on and immediately spill coffee all over it? Are all of these stares of pity and concern because of my gun-jumping decision to wear these strappy wedges?  I mean- the slow uncertain change is frustrating enough without that looming hangnail of a question: So is it really time to start shaving our legs again?

But we’ve done this before and we will do it again (Roar!). To give some inspiration- we’ve taken a few pieces here in Sassy Fox as an example of how to stand sure, strong and smokin’ hot even when the temperature is everything but.

A light cotton shirt-dress can be worn with or without tights. Carry the ruffled booties into slightly warmer Spring weather or when it’s finally gotten above 60s-ish, switch over to sneakers or espadrilles. Of course- you can always add a pop of bright color and fun, without compromising on warmth, with accessories.

It may be hard to tell but the top above is in an off-white shade which is the perfect natural prelude to a Summery crisp white. Long-sleeve combines with the sheer weave to match the already/not-yet weather patterns. Pair with stripes or bright colors and a fun tote to skip ahead a bit without being awkwardly ahead of the game.

Once again we bring in the nearly-white with a bold pant. Of course a cute lightweight jacket is the perfect transitional piece. Of course- one good thing to remember about these in-between styles is that they’ll fit more than just one seasonal turn. Later this year- when the heat has had its run and the temperatures cool down and warm up and cool down again- these looks will get their second run into Fall.

We’ve gotten a few of these J.Crew tunics into Sassy Fox lately and we can’t get enough. Neutral colors work for most seasons and weather. Lightweight and roomy and comfortable… Yes! And a great canvas for some fantastic statement jewelry.
